how we kicked cancer in the booty

Deanna & I were back at Athleta in Manhasset on Saturday, October 29th to close out breast cancer awareness month .

We were wearing our wellness in pink, spreading the word about cancer prevention and raising funds for the Manhasset Women’s Coalition Against Breast Cancer. Thank you to Anita Sadaty, MD for providing us with a valuable plan for prevention—5 action steps to reduce your risk by 30% regardless of age, environment or genetics.

We were joined by area wellness warriors who shared there motivation to get moving, nourish ourselves with nutrish + delish foods and revive our skin.

We are so grateful to everyone who participated.

Susan Urban started us all off with a high intensity interval training session that warmed us all up on a chilly morning. Followed by Molly Mulholland from Bar Method, who inspired us to move in a very different but equally intense way. Then the amazing Shari Thompson of Yoga Life stretched us out and motivated to continue thriving all day. We then headed inside to learn more about how to upgrade our skin care with Beautycounter with Pam Kenlon.

And if all that wasn’t enough we were treated to samples of gluten-free, low fodmap foods by Epicured. Rich and Renee, cofounders, joined us with samples of turkey chilly and quinoa bowls. What is better than shopping for fitness booty, shopping, eating and support programs that educated women about breast cancer prevention!

Now on to November. We will be wearing our wellness with gratitude all month long.
